Leadership

Mark Mukhija, P. Eng

Chief Executive Officer & Director

Mr. Mukhija brings over 16 years of mining experience including roles with global mining companies such as Teck Resources, Barrick, BHP, and TransAlta. Mark has also worked in mining technology and was most recently the General Manager Australia for Motion Metrics Pty Australia Ltd. , an industrial artificial intelligence and machine learning company catering to the mining industry with a specific focus on safety and productivity. Mr. Mukhija is a registered Professional Engineer and graduate from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering (2003).

Kuljit (Jeet) Basi

VP Project Development & Director

Mr. Basi is an established mining industry professional with over 17 years of technical leadership experience in global public mining companies including Newmont, Goldcorp and Teck Resources. Mr. Basi most recently held the position of Senior Advisor, Newmont North America for technical services, project development, and strategic planning across all of Newmont’s Canadian, U.S., and Mexican assets.

Ms. Popova brings more than 20 years of experience in financial accounting, having worked across a diverse range of industries. Her expertise spans key areas such as financial reporting, auditing, and regulatory compliance, making her a highly skilled professional with a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and financial practices.

Lauritz Barnes

BSc (Hons), MAIG – Resource Geologist, Aurora Energy

A geologist with over 25 years’ experience, specialising in 3-D geological modelling and resource estimation, project evaluation and development. He is a member of both the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG). Initially served with BHP Minerals (now BHP). Started his consulting company in 1999 and worked with Mitchell River Group and ASX listed Pilbara Minerals, Caravel Minerals, Centaurus Metals, Australian Vanadium, Anax Metals and Aurora Energy Metals.as a geologist.  Specialising in resource estimation and project evaluation.  Commodities covered in these various roles include lithium, gold, copper-gold, nickel, uranium, vanadium, base metals (Ag/Pb/Zn), graphite , mineral and garnet sands, rare earths and coal.

Mike Kobler

B.Sc – Founding CEO of American Lithium & Osum Oil Sands

Has specialized in identifying, acquiring, developing, and producing natural resource opportunities throughout the world over the past 35 years. He has served in a variety of executive roles for early-stage companies and has been a founder and a major shareholder in a number of these ventures. His expertise in identifying opportunities through detailed data analysis combined with his in-depth knowledge of permitting processes, including detailed environmental work, and water supply issues have served him to advance projects across North and South America. Previously, Co-Founder and original CEO of Osum Oil Sands Corp., he oversaw the growth of the company from start-up to a nearly $500 million capitalization and helped position the company to achieve a nearly $2 Billion valuation. Mr. Kobler holds a BSc in Mining Engineering from Montana Tech.

Mark Adams

P. Eng – Global Minerals & Mining Executive

Brings over 20 years’ experience in projects, operations, engineering, and technology with mining companies including BHP, Rio Tinto, Glencore, Teck, Freeport-McMoRan, Metso, and AtkinsRéalis. He holds a BASc in Mining Engineering and MBA from the University of British Columbia and an executive education from Oxford, Aalto Universities, and the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, a Fellow of Engineers Canada, an Honorary Fellow of Geoscientists Canada, and a Fellow of the UK Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He is a Past President of Engineers and Geoscientists BC and a current member of UBCs Advisory Committees for the Faculty of Applied Science and the Department of Mining Engineering. He was on Business in Vancouver’s 40 Under 40 list (2021) and named one of the 500 Most Influential Business Leaders in British Columbia in 2022 and 2023.

Robert L. Greene

P.E. – Energy Executive | Navy Rear Admiral (Ret)

He has held five command tours throughout his military career of which 10 years were active duty and 25 years in the reserve component enabling him to have a concurrent private sector career. Graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He became a licensed professional engineer and a certified Navy nuclear engineer, qualifying to oversee operations on two of Navy’s lead Westinghouse A4W 550 MW nuclear reactor plants. As an energy executive, Greene served as Chief Executive Officer of the University of Iowa Energy Collaborative, a public-private partnership (P3) between UIOWA and both private equity and publicly traded companies who endowed $1.2B to the university for a 50- year concession agreement. Greene is currently serving as a member on the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Board of Directors, one of the nation’s largest and most influential military associations with over 360,000 members— a nonprofit organization that advocates with Congress, DOD, VA, and Department of Homeland Security.
